Course Aims:
The course is aimed at anyone working within the care sector and will give you knowledge and understanding of why people may have swallowing difficulties, and the medical reasons why people may need to be given nutrition through other means. How to safely administer nutrition through endoscopy and how to safely maintain the equipment. The training includes learning how to use the Nutricia feeding machines. The purpose of Peg feed training is to equip the learning with knowledge and understanding about why Peg feeding may be used, what its purpose is and how it can be used safely. The learning includes different types of percutaneous endoscopic Gastronomy. The course looks at the equipment used, how to set up feeds and deals with arising issues.
